The Places Where We Live
"The Places Where We Live", can be anywhere, and everywhere, especially in an urban metropolis. Inspired by the many layers and stories buildings hold for us, I attempt to draw attention to and humanize our built environment. We can become inundated with sensory overload that we miss the little things that are most important. Bound within the walls of these buildings are the stories of the people of these communities- the dreams of fathers and mothers, sisters, brothers, newly arrived immigrants, women who replaced men on the assembly lines during the war, the visions of emerging entrepreneurs. All these stories become the identity of the area and each story is important. I leave the interpretation to the viewer, to create their own story, hopefully, they are captivated by the work to pause for a moment.
